So there is no doubt about what we do and do not offer.
We are not a law firm
LPASafe is not a firm of solicitors and is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We do not provide legal advice, and nothing on this website, in our resources, or in our service should be taken as legal advice or relied on as such.
What our service is
We prepare the official lasting power of attorney forms from the information you give us, and check them against the Office of the Public Guardian’s published requirements. This is a document preparation and checking service. The decisions about who to appoint and how are yours.
Our resources are general information
Our resources and glossary explain how lasting powers of attorney work in England and Wales in general terms. They are kept accurate and up to date to the best of our ability, but the law can change and every situation is different. They are not a substitute for advice on your own circumstances.
When to see a solicitor
You should consider taking advice from a solicitor if your circumstances are complex: for example, if there is any doubt about mental capacity, if there is disagreement in the family, if you have significant or complicated assets or a business, or if your wishes are unusual. We will always say so if your situation looks like one where advice would be sensible.
Registration is the OPG's decision
Whether an LPA is registered is decided by the Office of the Public Guardian, not by us. Our No-Rejection Promise stands behind how we prepare your form, but we cannot and do not guarantee registration.
England and Wales only
Our service applies to England and Wales. Lasting powers of attorney work differently in Scotland and Northern Ireland, and we do not provide documents for those jurisdictions.
